Leaf Unveils Women of Sport Trading Card Collection

Leaf Trading Cards is making history with its latest release of the 2024 Leaf Metal Women of Sport collection, a groundbreaking series that spotlights iconic female athletes from past, present, and future generations. This unique collection marks a significant step forward in the trading card hobby, showcasing the talents and achievements of women in sports who have often been overlooked in the industry.

Featuring a diverse range of autograph sets, the Women of Sport collection includes sets such as Herstory, She Got Game, Starstruck, Dazzlers, Unbreakable Duals, and Anime Nation. From legendary athletes like Mia Hamm, Alex Morgan, Cheryl Miller, and Lisa Leslie to modern-day stars such as Livvy Dunne, Paige Bueckers, Maya Brady, and Makenzie Steele, these cards capture the essence of female excellence in sports.

One of the standout additions to the collection is Duke freshman Toby Fournier, whose viral dunking videos have captured the attention of basketball fans around the world. Fournier’s exclusive deal with Leaf makes her the only incoming freshman women’s basketball player to be featured in the collection, solidifying her status as a rising star in the sport.

In addition to individual cards, the Women of Sport collection also showcases dynamic combinations of athletes, including groupings of U.S. soccer legends Mia Hamm, Alex Morgan, Sophia Smith, and Brandi Chastain. The collection even features special duo cards, like the one highlighting the talents of WNBA star Cameron Brink and UConn basketball phenom Paige Bueckers.

Leaf’s Director of Marketing and Licensing, CJ Breen, is excited about the impact this collection will have on the trading card world. He expressed his commitment to recognizing and celebrating female athletes who have often been underrepresented in the industry, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the hobby.

By featuring a wide array of female athletes across different sports and generations, Leaf Trading Cards aims to not only showcase the achievements of women in sports but also to encourage a new wave of collectors to join the hobby. Breen hopes that this collection will serve as a catalyst for greater inclusivity and diversity within the trading card community, making collecting cards a fun and accessible activity for all.

Through the Women of Sport collection, Leaf Trading Cards continues to push boundaries and lead the way in celebrating female athletes while bridging the gap between sports enthusiasts and collectors. This revolutionary series not only recognizes the talent and accomplishments of women in sports but also paves the way for a more inclusive and diverse trading card landscape.
